The ideal Groomer for Bear Creek is a guest service focused individual with the ability to help create a positive, memorable experience for our guests from behind the scenes. The successful team member will be able to work with their team as well as individually, have good communication skills, be detail oriented and foster the Bear Creek culture by focusing on our guests. This position will be an important member of the Grooming team, ensuring each night that the ski and snowboard trails are properly groomed based on weather and precipitation conditions, creating a safe and high-quality snow surface for the next day's guests.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
- Work up to 12 hour shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays. Must be punctual and alert.
- Prepare and groom all slopes, trails and tubing park
- Coordinate and communicate grooming needs and challenges to the Grooming Manager
- Able to move snowmaking equipment (i.e. snow guns)
- Assist with start-up and shut down of snowmaking equipment as needed
- Assist with Slope and trail maintenance including tree trimming, brush clearing as needed
- Inform supervisor and/or vehicle maintenance manager of any necessary repairs to equipment
- Maintain and return after use to designated area all Bear Creek tools used
- Minimize down time through preventative maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep of the machines
- Assist with snow removal
- Shovel out lift ramps, report buried fencing, covered signs and snowmaking hydrants to supervisor
- Unload delivery trucks with skid loader if needed
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Must be able to be in a seated position for an entire shift
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM ALL BCMR TEAM MEMBERS:
- Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day. Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
- Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
- Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
- Understand emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
- Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
- Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary
- Other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor

- Comply with Bear Creek and Southern Management's policies and procedures
- Must be 18 years of age
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Must have at least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment. snowcat experience preferred
- Able to climb in and out of the machines safely.
- Work collaboratively with others and communicate effectively
- Shift is overnight
- Availability during peak operating times, i.e.: weekends, holidays and special events
- Ability to operate snowmobiles/Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTV's)/skid loaders/backhoe and telehandler.
- Chainsaw operation
- Plow truck/skid loader/backhoe.
- Must be punctual and alert
- Be able to anticipate and avoid hazards
- Able to operate a chain saw
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of or ability to learn the mountain terrain preferred
