Customer Service Specialist – Winter 2024-2025

Job Description

 

Department: Customer Service

Full Time or Part Time Seasonal, Hourly

Effective Date: June 2024

 

Overview: As the guest’s first point of contact, you provide a friendly face, a patient ear, and a knowledgeable voice representing the mountain for new and returning guests alike. You assess their needs and provide recommendations as appropriate on subjects ranging from ticket and lesson types to what kind of gear they should wear. Your goal with every guest interaction is to set them on course to have a great experience at the mountain.

 

Customer service specialists work indoors; however, you may be required to work outdoors to speak with customers, greet and expedite customers waiting in line, or generally conduct business. Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain is often a fast-paced environment, especially during holiday and peak days. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain. Must be able to work in close proximity with other staff.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Arrive to work on time, dressed for winter sports professionalism
  • Learn and share information related to winter activities, pricing, participation requirements, and generally be able to answer any questions posed by the guest
  • Use computers and various technology components and software to conduct business and answer questions
  • Enter contact and other personal information via a computer keyboard quickly and accurately
  • Communicate in written and verbal forms
  • Answer telephones and effectively take messages
  • Quickly and effectively conduct transactions for all aspects of ski business (tickets, rental equipment, lessons) 
  • Suggest and sell retail ski accessories items

 

Qualifications:

  • Strong personal character and commitment to success of winter season at Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain
  • Ability to stay positive, focused and productive when faced with setbacks, challenges, and while working in an ever-changing environment
  • Cashier skills including counting money, ringing up customers, and providing correct change
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language, additional languages preferred
  • Friendly demeanor with customers 
  • Desire to assist customers
