We are a family orientated destination located in the Endless Mountains of Northeast Pennsylvania. Elk Mountain remains the proven leader for quality skiing in Pennsylvania. Elk Mountain has 27 slopes and trails with great variety and the most challenging terrain in Pennsylvania. Snowmaking covers 95% of the 180 acres of skiable terrain. The base complex features a day lodge, guest services, ski school center, restaurant, cafeteria, rental shop, and a retail shop.
Responsibilities and Duties
Our school is a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and utilizes the American Teaching System. Elk Mountain takes great pride in its ski school programs and lessons. Our overall goal for each department is to provide a safe, quality experience for our guests and fellow employees. Instructors teach guests how to ski/snowboard and help to improve skier/snowboarder skills and techniques.
Qualifications and Skills
PSIA/AASI (or country equivalent) certification OR complete/pass the Elk Mountain Instructor Training Course. Entry level must complete Elk Mountains Instructor Training Course.
High School equivalent education
Must be 16 or older by December 1
Strong intermediate or advanced skier or snowboarder
Available to work holidays and weekends and can meet our flexible scheduling options.
Successfully complete all aspects of the hiring process including criminal history, child abuse history certification and fingerprint verification
Must be able to stand and walk on snow for extended periods of time.
Must have good guest service skills and work well in a team.
Must have the ability to follow and give clear instructions.
